So...we've decided that we're going to Strowlercon. Too much love there not to go, right?

So...is anyone going up from the NYC area? We'd love to be transported, natch -- but also, we have an object we have a crazy plan of bringing up which isn't really practical to transport by hand.

Well, we're obviously no help transit-wise, but if you're still looking for room-space,

tirerim and I have a two-bed room which has one more bed than we need.

When are you going up? One of our transportation solutions (though not ideal for the Object) is to get a lift from South Station.

we are going up on Friday, sometime, and probably via commuter rail.
Currently I have the room for just Friday and Saturday night, but if you were planning on staying through Monday, I could extend it (since, as I recently realized, I don't actually have work on Monday, and that was what

tirerim wanted to do.

Ah well. Commuter rail from NYC is annoying (as, um, it's bus|train->south station -> walk -> orange line -> north station -> commuter rail -> hotel shuttle), if doable.

No, Friday and Saturday night are fine for us. I'm taking off 6 days in October; I don't need more (1 for Strower, 2 for Lullabye of Broadway 3, 3 for OVFF; fortunately we're not going to another con that month or the pattern would be ludicrous (probably fer real, as the "other con" would be World Fantasy the week after OVFF, -also- in Columbus, Ohio, so to do it practically it actually -would- involve another 4 days off so as not to join the flights).

Wouldn't it be easier to take the red line from South Station to Park Street and get to North Station from the green line? (Possibly not actually shorter or faster, but you wouldn't need to walk to the orange line, which may be preferable when traveling with Object.)

What?!? Craaaap! I was considering going down from here on a business trip to coincide, mostly so I could hear

catvalente read and ask her to please-sign-me-books, but in the end, I decided that the con's theme was not really my thing. If I'd known that you and Lisa were going, that would have tipped the scales firmly in the direction of more-sensible-reasons-to-attend. Dammit!

Is it too late to change your mind? The con's -real- theme is cool music and cool people; the bands are -totally- worth making the trip for alone (not to mention Cat, yes).

Scheduling at this point will prove "exciting", not the least because Canucksgiving is the weekend of 15-17. I'm currently consulting with co-workers and, more importantly, the person to whom I am espoused. I will certainly let you guys know if I can swing it.

Attending Strowlercon unfortunately is not happening due to booking Albacon 2010 at Albacon 2009 and them actually working with me about hotel room at the convention.

I wish I could attend both.
